NAMPOA is a
non-profit voluntary association established in 1992 to represent Namibia’s
upstream oil and gas operators. It
provides
a trusted forum
through which members collaborate, develop a
harmonised industry position
and engage constructively with Government, regulators and
society.
Through this partnership, NAMPOA
supports responsible petroleum
development that
contributes to governmet’s priorities of
economic growth, transformation and resilience,
including investment, skills development, local participation and employment
creation.
NAMPOA members have collectively invested more thanNAMPOA members have collectively invested more than
N$80 BILLION
in Namibia’s
petroleum sector since 1993. This investment
supports exploration activity, builds domestic capability and expands
opportunities for Namibian enterprises and employment. Members also support the Petroleum Training and Education Fund (PETROFUND), helping to develop
the skills required for
Namibians to participate meaningfully in the energy
sector.
Members partner with the
Government of the Republic of Namibia, the Ministry of Mines and Energy, NAMCOR
and other stakeholders on initiatives that support the
country’s national development objectives. By coordinating industry input and
sharing practical expertise, NAMPOA seeks to help create a stable and
competitive operating environment that enables responsible
investment, local value creation, skills transfer,
decent employment opportunities and sustainable sector growth.
