Recently, the NAMPOA team had a courtesy meeting with the Chamber of Mines Namibia ahead of the annual Mining Expo.
While mining and upstream oil & gas are distinct industries, they share a common purpose: unlocking Namibia’s natural resources responsibly for the benefit of the country and its people.
The Chamber of Mines Namibia has spent nearly six decades building trusted relationships, representing its members, contributing to policy discussions and supporting the sustainable growth of Namibia’s mining sector. For Namibia Petroleum Operators Association (NAMPOA), there are valuable lessons in that journey.
Our industries may differ, but the principles of effective industry representation, stakeholder engagement, member value creation and informed policy contribution are lessons that transcend sectors.
As Namibia’s upstream petroleum sector continues to evolve, collaboration and knowledge-sharing between industry associations is important in strengthening the broader extractive sector and ensuring that we contribute meaningfully to the country’s long-term prosperity.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the Chamber of Mines team for insightful discussions and we look forward to engaging with stakeholders and exhibitors at the Mining Expo, which begins tomorrow. See you there.
