Strategic Leadership Update
The Namibian Petroleum Operators Association (NAMPOA) is pleased to announce recent Board leadership changes, ushering in a renewed strategic focus as the Association strengthens its role in convening dialogue, coordination, and engagement across Namibia’s oil and gas sector.
Mr. Eduardo Rodriguez, Country Chair of Shell Namibia, has been appointed as Chairperson of the Board, following the decision by Mr. Klaus Endresen to step down from this role after 2 mandates as the Chairperson and more than three decades of dedicated service to the Association and the industry. A founding member of NAMPOA since its establishment in 1992, Mr. Endresen will continue to contribute as a representative of BW Kudu, ensuring the Association continues to draw on his extensive industry expertise and deep insight.
Ms. Selma Usiku, Non- Executive Director of Eco Atlantic Oil & Gas, has been appointed as Vice-Chairperson of the Board. Her appointment marks a notable milestone in the advancement of women in Namibia’s energy leadership and reflects NAMPOA’s commitment to inclusive representation.
The Board also welcomes Ms. Saave Nakashole, New Ventures Manager (Upstream Development & Production) at NAMCOR, who joins as a new member following Mr. Endresen’s transition. The inclusion of NAMCOR on the Board brings the vital perspective of Namibia’s National Oil Company (NOC), ensuring a more holistic and nationally aligned approach to the Association’s work.
Alongside continuing board members Mr. Diogo Martins, Country Manager at Galp, and Mr. Laurent Roché, Country Manager at TotalEnergies, this diverse and high-calibre Board assumes its responsibilities at a pivotal time for the Namibian energy sector. As offshore discoveries and exploration activity continue to place the country on the global petroleum map, their collective expertise will be instrumental in guiding NAMPOA’s strategic direction and engagement efforts.
